Leo Louis Rockey Portland, MI Age 82, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. He was born on November 16, 1930 in Pewamo, MI the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Tannery) Rockey. Mr. Rockey was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, member of the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. Leo farmed his whole life, loved being on his tractor or Gator in the field, and was retired from General Motors. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Caroline in 2007; siblings, Louis, Margaret, Dorothy, John, Raymond, Robert, and Julia Marie. Surviving are his children, Carol (William) Mitchell, Karen (Tom) Graft, Bob (Bonnie) Rockey, Ann (Junior) Miller, Dan (Jessica) Rockey, Barb (Steve) Wilcox, Kathy Rockey, and Lisa (Chad) Barker; 30 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; siblings, Harold (Judy) Rockey and Joan Rockey; sister-in-law, Revella Smith; several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland, with Rev. Larry King presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090. The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. A Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m., and a Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Portland V.F.W.
