Age 57, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010. He was born on October 6, 1952 in Carson City, MI the son of Lester and Amelia (Madole) Mahlich. Gar loved and was loved by all. He really loved reading his Bible and going to church, umpiring and bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; 2 children by his first wife Ruth; Erin and Kevin; 4 step children, Chrissy, Jeannie, Andy and Bill. 15 grandkids; 2 great granddaughters; 2 step grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lynn (Kim) and Jeff (Carol); sister, Cindy (Dean); several nieces and nephews; 3 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law. The Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Ashley Baptist Church, 10463 Belding Rd. Belding, MI with Rev. David Oliver, presiding. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to the time of service.
