Linda Diane McClelland Portland, MI Age 71, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014 surrounded by her family, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on November 17, 1942 in Lansing, MI the daughter of Fred and Evelyn (Sorenson) Jones. Linda was a waitress at Queenies, worked at Portland Public Schools, Lears Supermarket and Builders Lumber Supply. She enjoyed making cards and working in her garden. Preceding her in death were her husband, James McClelland; father, Fred Jones; brother, Robert Jones. Surviving are her daughters, Luanne (Mike) Goodman, and Laura (Bill) Beard, both of Portland; grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) Normington, and Courtney Beard; mother, Evelyn Jones of Florida; brother, Richard (Katherine) Jones of Florida; sister-in-law, Sandra Jones of Portland; several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090, 1324 E. Bridge Street, Portland, with a dinner to follow.
