Lloyd Whittemore

Lloyd J. Whittemore Muir, MI. Born March 22, 1928 at Sparrow Hospital, and has been a Lansing resident his whole life. Lloyd was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 4th Infantry 2nd Division. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post #6132 and past Commander of the Post from 1960-1961. He also was a member of the Lyons-Muir Post #4646. He retired from Michigan State in March of 1990 after 30 1/2 years, the last 20 years working as food Supervisor at the Kellogg Center. Lloyd was a charter member of the Lansing Community Circle Players. Surviving are one niece Vickie Van Alstine, grand-niece Monica Van Alstine, and grand-nephew Brian Van Alstine. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing. There will be a luncheon provided by the Lyons-Muir Post #4646, 223 E. Bridge St., Lyons, immediately following the the funeral home visitation. Contributions may be made to the Lansing Area Aids Network in Lloyd’s name.
