Lorna Leone Ainslie Ionia Age 87, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016. She was born on June 2, 1928 in Portland the daughter of Clifford and Helen (Wilcox) Mellstead. Lorna had a passion for Michigan State Athletics, pinochle and euchre, growing flowers, camping, fishing, and travelling across the state attending numerous events to watch and then brag about all of her talented and successful 13 grandchildren (and their spouses) and 13 great-grandchildren. Lorna is preceded in death by her parents and eldest son Keith (Becky). She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Brian; children Linda and Dale Mock, James and Patricia Ainslie, Dianne Barmes, Rex and Marge Ainslie, and Ronald Ainslie; Sisters Marilyn and Cliff Bottoms, and Janice and Jack Patrick, plus several nieces and nephew. The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Cliff Allen at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. The family will receive friends 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Lorna.
