Age 81, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2005. She was born on May 26, 1923 in South Lyon, MI the daughter of Raymond and Mabel (Sowers) Duncan. Mrs. Hendee was a member of the Portland VFW Post #4090 Ladies Auxiliary and the Okeechobee, Florida Elks Club #2558 Auxiliary. Mae worked as the bookkeeper for her husband in their construction and farming business for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hal "Fred" Hendee; son, Gerald Foote; daughter-in-law Billie Foote. Surviving are her children, Patricia (Dave) McGregor of Portland, Donald Foote of Ononadaga; daughter-in-law Janet Foote of Jackson, MI; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be conducted by her grandson Mr. Rodney Foote at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2005 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland with interment following at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Rodney Foote, Jim Foote, Joel Foote, Mark McGregor, Dean McGregor, and Jeff Kohn.
