Marilyn Huff Obituary

Marilyn Marie (Miller) Rutherford Huff, was called home by her Lord, on May 28, 2010, at the MSU Breslin Cancer Center, in Lansing, while in the presence of her family and beloved friends. She was born May 5, 1930, in Sulphur Springs, Indiana, to Abe and Vivian (Mauck) Miller, who preceded her in death. Marilyn was a member of the First Congregational Church of Portland, and the Middletown, Indiana, chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a 50 year member. She loved her family and many friends and loved to go fishing and playing bridge. Marilyn also enjoyed watching her favorite baseball team, the Detroit Tigers. In addition to her parents, preceding Marilyn in death were her first husband, Donald Rutherford; her second husband, Rodney Huff; a sister, Marcia (Miller) Shively Kirkpatrick, and her daughter, Teresa Ann Rutherford Forbes. Surviving are her children, Mike (Sandy) Rutherford, of New Castle, Indiana, and Sharon (Steve) Martin, of Williamston; grandchildren, Kelli (John) Rutherford Servizzi, Eric Rutherford, Stephen (Dolly) Martin, Jr., Jessica and Tyler Martin, Aaron Forbes; great grandchildren, Jenna and Nathan Servizzi; sisters, Marj (Don) Becker, of Sulphur Springs, Indiana, and Jill (Mark) Surface, of Marion, Indiana. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 30, 2010 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland, with Rev. Marilyn V. Danielson officiating a service beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown, Indiana with Rev. Marty Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Miller Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made in Marilyn's name to the McLaren Visiting Nurse and Hospice (Lansing area), 2316 S. Cedar Street, Suite 600, Lansing, MI 48910.
