Marjorie Cook-Gregg Obituary

Marjorie Jean Cook-Gregg Marjorie was born December, 7th, 1925 to her loving parents, John and Louise Egan of Carson City, Michigan. She grew up on a farm with her sisters Josephine, Regina, Phyllis, and Mary and her brothers Pat, Larry, Dick, Gerald, and Bob. Marjorie graduated from a one- room school house in Carson City, where she was valedictorian in a class of two. She met Julius Arnold Cook at the dance in Carson City, married, and lovingly brought into this world, six children, Ron, Roger, Patty, Brian, Dan, and Lori. Marjorie and Julius were members of “The Greatest Generation” and lived their lives in service to God, family, and country. Julius and Marjorie worked together many years at Cook Brothers with Bill and Marie Cook. Ron, Roger, Brian, Dan, Keith, Bruce, Dale, and Ken helped to run the family business. Mom enjoyed Tole painting with her sisters and friends. She also enjoyed painting landscapes on canvas, many of which we still have in our homes. After Julius passed away in 1982, Mom’s journey in life took her to Florida. She enjoyed the daily sunshine and sandy beaches. Years later, she met Lester Gregg and they married in 1991. Les invited his children, Leslie, her husband Steve, and son Andy, Karen, and her children Natalie and Sean , Steve and his wife Lenna, David and his wife, to Florida to meet Marjorie’s kids. They enjoyed a memorable weekend together. Marjorie and Les were married for 16 years and enjoyed dancing, playing cards with friends, and traveling. Her Catholic Christian Church and Faith, her family and friends were her life. Those of us who have been blessed to have known her, cherish every moment that God has allowed us to share with her. We are grateful for the gift she will forever be to us. Marjorie is survived by her step-children Steven, Leslie, Karen, and David and her children Ron, Roger, Patty, Brian, Dan, and Lori. She is survived by her most loved sisters and brothers, Phyllis, Mary, Larry, Pat, Gerald, and Bob. Marjorie was preceded by her sister Josephine, Regina, and her brother Dick. She is survived by her loving step- grandchildren Andy, Natalie, Sean , Vanya, and Hannah and her grandchildren Burke Payne, Megan Joy Purna, Xanthe Alexis, Gabriel Cook, Melissa and Tony Long, Andrea and Doug Stark, Lindsey and Victor Gaviria, Dalton, Braden, and Rylee Cook, Derek and Grace Leppo, Miles and Liam Gill.
