Mary Fisher

Portland Age 85, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2008. She was born on December 25, 1922 in Flint the daughter of Emroy and Lucille (Rice) Gilchrist. Mary enjoyed ice skating, traveling, was a great people watcher and loved to shop with her daughter. She worked in a bomber plant and followed her brothers and husband into the Armed Forces where she recieved $21.00 a month in pay. Mary loved to go to their trailer on Pretty Lake and enjoy time with her family. She was active in the March of Dimes and a member of the Portland United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Art; children Larry (Bobbie) Fisher of Three Oaks and Bobbie (Jim) Thompson of Portland. Grandchildren Patrick (Carol) Thompson, Luke (special friend, Krista) Thompson, James (Karen) Fisher, Melissa Fisher D.V.M.; great grandchildren Kevin and Nick Thompson, Cody and Wyatt Fisher. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Gregory R. Wolfe at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Interment will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will recieve friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral on Saturday.
