Age 87, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2005 at her home. She was born on July 22, 1917 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Robert and G. Cassie (Holden) Banhagel. Mrs. Frost graduated from Ss. Peter and Paul Academy in 1936. She worked at McNamara's Drug Store and McClellan's Dime Store in Ionia until her marriage to Francis "Jack" Frost in 1948. Mary was a life-long member Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and volunteered in various church/school organizations and activities over the years. Mrs. Frost was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 5 brothers, Robert "Frank", Frederick, Oswald, Gerald and James Banhagel. Surviving are 3 daughters, Sr. Patricia Frost, IHM of Monroe, Deborah Frost of Lansing and Mary M. Frost of Ionia; 2 sons, Thomas (Jeni) Frost and Robert Frost of Ionia; 3 grandchildren, Paul (Christine) Frost of Lyons, Jason (Kelly) Frost of Lansing and Cassandra Frost of Ionia, along with two delightful great grandchildren, Abigail and Adam Frost of Lyons; several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 10, 2005, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. A Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Thursday.
