Mary McCrumb
Age 98, loving aunt passed away on Monday, October 19, 2009. She was born on April 18, 1911 in Eagle Township, MI the daughter of Emmett and Sadie (Lehman) McCrumb. Miss McCrumb was a devout Christian who taught at Eagle School for many years before moving on to the Portland Public Schools when the schools consolidated to teach with her sisters Helen McCrumb Smith and Agnes Lietzke. She retired from Portland Public Schools in 1973. She lived her entire life on the family farm. She was a very independent person who loved working outdoors. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Catherine Clark, Agnes Lietzke, and Helen McCrumb Smith; brother, Lester McCrumb; nephew Robert Clark. Surviving are 2 nieces, Margaret (Donald) Sheffer of Muskegon and Deloris Walker of Bradenton, FL; Several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland with interment following at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 7-9 pm and from 12 - 1 pm on Friday.
