Matilda "Tillie" Hufnagel

Matilda "Tillie" Helen Hufnagel Portland, Michigan Age 86, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015. She was born on November 13, 1928 in Portland, MI, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Schafer) Gensterblum. Mrs. Hufnagel was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, enjoyed traveling and occasionally going to the casinos. Preceding her in death were her parents; siblings, Adeline Smith, Helen Rogers, Francis Gensterblum, and Rita Miller. Surviving are her husband, Robert Hufnagel; children, Linda (Dane) Droste of Ionia, Michael Fowler of Big Rapids, Steven Fowler of Portland, Patricia (Thomas) Roth of Lansing, Randall Fowler of Portland, and William (fiancee, Jill) Fowler of Portland; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Penny Peiffer; special caregiver, Kim Bower; in-laws, Mark (Leone) Hufnagel of Westphalia, Jo (Dan) Bengel of Portland, Dennis Hufnagel of Portland, Debra Hufnagel of Lansing, and Nancy Hufnagel of Mason; several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Larry King at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. A Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
