Maxine Mervau Obituary

Age 82, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, October 15, 2005. She was born on November 22, 1922 in Avoca, MI the daughter of Lloyd V. and Dinah P. (Fletcher) Andreae. Maxine graduated from the University of Michigan, College of Dental Hygiene, was a member of the Portland United Methodist Church, and was an avid reader, bowler and golfer. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Virginia Foran and Lorraine Donnenworth; son-in-law, Gary Ankney. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Robert "Bob" Mervau of Portland; daughters, Andrea (Lou) Stocks of Austin, Tx, Martha (Dave) Kellett of Saginaw and Sally (Joe DuBois) Ankney of DeWitt; grandchildren, Rebecca (Joe) Bozarth, Kara Vasold and Paul Kellett; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be conducted by the Rev. Gregory R. Wolfe, Pastor at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at the Portland United Methodist Church, 310 E. Bridge Street, Portland. Interment will take place at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery in Yale, MI. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Portland United Methodist Church, Portland Public Library, or to the Ionia County Humane Society, in memory of Mrs. Maxine F. Mervau. Complete arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.
