Michael Brady Obituary

Age 68, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012 in Ionia, MI, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 24, 1944 to Francis James and Vera Louise Dixon Brady. Mike was raised in Ionia and graduated from Ss. Peter & Paul School in 1962. He went on to graduate from Lansing Community College and Northwood University. In 2001 he retired from General Motors Corporation after 35 years of service. Mike was a life long member of Ss. Peter & Paul Church and the Knights of Columbus. Preceding him in death were his parents, Francis and Louise Brady; nieces, Debbie (Meyers) Crater and Lauren Marie Brady. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Eldora (Dora) Brady of Ionia; 1 daughter, Sue Anne Brady-Thompson of Ionia; 2 sons, Michael Scott (Julie) Brady of Belding, MI, and Jeffrey Allen (Rolene) Brady of Cadillac, MI; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Veronica Ward of Ionia, Patricia Brady of Belding, and Mary (Chuck) Booth of Ionia; 1 brother, Tim (Cheryl) Brady of Haslett; special friend, Father Mel Fox of Grand Rapids; "adopted" sister, Donna Stone of Lansing; many nieces and nephews. Mike's faith, love of his family, and the fact that he never met a stranger were some of his greatest qualities. He will forever be remembered as everyone's "Superman"; he always came to save the day. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ionia, with Rev. Thomas Boufford presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. In Lieu of Flowers, it is requested that memorial contributions be made to Ss. Peter & Paul Educational Fund, or Spectrum Health Hospice, in memory of Mike.
