Michele L. Cook Portland, Michigan Age 39, surrounded by her loving family, Michele passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on February 8, 1974 in Carson City, MI the daughter of Dennis and Celine (Martin) Harr. Michele was a devoted mother and precious wife. She enjoyed family, friends and traveling, whether it be camping in Michigan or vacationing in Hawaii. She graduated from Fowler High School in 1992 and later from Central Michigan University with a B.A. in General Business. She was a well-respected secretary at the Michigan State Police Headquarters. Michele was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Michele's faith enabled her to find peace with her illness. Preceding her in death were her father, Dennis; brother, Christopher; father-in-law, William Cook; grandparents, Joseph and Pauline Martin, and Melvin and Irene Harr. Surviving are her husband, Joe Cook; sons, Brice and Devin Cook; mother, Celine Harr; sisters, Nicole (Dan) Thelen and Jamie (Scott) Nurenberg; mother-in-law, Marie Cook; ; in-laws, Keith (Kathy) Cook, Carol (Dale) Kramer, Bruce (Khristie) Cook, Judy Kranz, Dale (special friend, Mary Eddy) Cook, Lisa (Andy) Barrone, Ken (Mary) Cook, Diane (Tim) Hafner, and Bill (Marne) Cook; 26 nieces and nephews, including her very special Godchildren, Charlie Thelen and Charlie Barrone. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with the Rev. Larry King at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 140 Church Street, Portland, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. Rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. Thursday, 3 p.m. Friday, and a Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday.
