Monica P. Bailey Portland, Michigan Age 81, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015. She was born on December 17, 1933 in Westphalia, MI the daughter of Leo and Bernita (Hufnagel) Pung. Mrs. Bailey retired from TRW in Portland after 28 years of service. Monica was a member of the Portland Women's VFW Auxiliary, volunteering her service many years in the preparation of funeral dinners. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Medford; sister, Clare (Dick) Cavendish; brothers, Alex (Norma) Pung and Roy Pung; brothers-in-law, Robert McNary and Donald (Mildred) Bailey; sisters-in-law, Donalta (Jim) Webb and Texa Miller. Surviving are her children, Edward (Susan) Bailey, Richard Bailey, and Sandra (Keith) Huhn; grandchildren, Jessie (Brian) Byelich, Luke Bailey, Kelly (Mark) Wooters, and Kyle (Sonja Perakis) Huhn; great grandchildren, Harrison and Bailey Byelich, Kasen and Wren Wooters, and Julien Perakis; sisters, Leonora McNary and Rosella (Larry) Thomas; sister-in-law, Charlene Pung; brothers-in-law, William Boyd (Janet) Bailey and Clarence (Virginia) Bailey. Also surviving is her dog, Annie. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland, with Rev. Dr. Marilyn V. Danielson, Pastor of the First Congregational Church presiding. Interment will follow at Danby Township Cemetey. The family will receive friends from 10-12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, or the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090, in memory of Monica.
