Nathan Dale Owen (Cobb) Portland, MI Born on Dec. 24, 1971 Our precious brother earned his Heavenly wings on May 15, 2015. Nathan touched so many lives with his mischievious sense of humor, his unconditional love, and his sweet smile that was always present regardless of how he was feeling or the pain he was in. Nathan loved his dinosaurs; he had a collection of over 100. He loved to watch videos; Spongebob and Toy Story 2 were his favorites. He loved school. Nathan attended Freedom Acres in Ionia for 24 years. I believe he thought he was in charge of the whole school! For the last 19 years he has attended Transitions North in Lansing, where he managed to charm himself into the hearts of the staff there also. Nathan was a very social young man; he loved people and took great joy in teasing everyone just to get them to laugh. He loved to make people happy. To know Nathan was to love him. Nathan was preceded in death by his mom, June Owen; sister, Patricia Owen; brother, John Owen; brother, Steven Owen; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sisters, Donna Owen, Carol Owen, Cathy Owen, and Mary Thompson; so many very special nieces, nephews and cousins. God blessed our family with this very special boy. He brought us to love unconditionally and to value life. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland, with Pastor Joe Robbe of Mount Hope Church, Portland, presiding. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
