Age 62, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2009. She was born on March 13, 1947 in Belfast, Northern Ireland the daughter of William and Mary (Hickey) Conlon. Mrs. Thelen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She loved cooking, sewing, knitting, playing bingo and slot machines but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Tony Conlon, Margaret Leik, Olive Fitzpatrick; father-in-law, Robert Thelen; brother-in-law, Dave Thelen; Surviving are her husband of 34 years Donald Thelen of Portland; children, David Thelen of Lake Odessa, Paul (Jenny) Thelen of Portland, Robert (Tiffany) Thelen of Portland, Theresa (Warren) Jacobs of Portland, Brian Thelen of Portland, and Thomas Thelen of Gillette, Wyoming; 9 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Viola Thelen; siblings, John (Ruth) Conlon, Maureen Knocker, Anne (Bill) Eddy, Rose Mary (Larry) Leik, Patrick Conlon and Charles Conlon; several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Friday, September 4, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Larry King, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
