Paul Green Obituary

Age 79, walked into the arms of Jesus on November 24, 2011 with his loving wife, Billie, by his side. Mr. Green retired from Packaging Corporation of America after 39 years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Paul was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working in his garden. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Barbara; parents William and Edith Green. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Billie; children, Patty (Jeff) Cook, Benny Lynn (Kathy) Green and Paul Vernon Green; step-daughters, Sheila Bartholomew and Patty (David) Tripp; sisters, Frieda (Keith) Wick, Jean Wier, Addie Ruth (Jennings) Henderson and Brenda Green; brother, Ben Green. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Loren and Denise Rich,Mark and Brenda Bite, Nancy Houts, and a "special family of friends" in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where they spent their winters. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Spectrum Health Hospital and Stoneleigh Hospice Center in Lansing for all their kindness and generosity during this difficult time. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at the First Congregational Church, Portland, with Rev. Dr. Marilyn V. Danielson, Pastor presiding. Interment will take place at Kent Memorial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland.
