Pauline Arnesen Obituary

Pauline Alice (Brandsen) Arnesen, born January 9, 1922 to Jacob and Henrietta (Bartels) Brandsen in Kent County. Pauline was an active member of the Portland First Congregational Church, serving as Deacon, participating in the choir, the Guild, Bible Study on Tuesday’s, and was involved in the Pulpit Search Committee, among other activities. She was a devoted employee at T.R.W. for many years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, boating, and crocheting. Pauline loved music, cooking holiday dinners, but most of all she valued spending time with her family, especially as she was able to watch the younger generations of her family grow. Preceding Pauline in death are her husband of 47 years, H. Norman Arnesen; her parents; brothers, Alfred and Gordon Brandsen; sister, Jeanette Hoort; brothers-in-law, August Hoort and Vaughn Baxter; sister-in-law, Helen Brandsen; and daughter-in-law, Kitty Arnesen. She is survived by her sons, Ron (Jennie Stambaugh), Loren (Myra), and Wayne (Christine) Arnesen; sister, Harriet Baxter; sister-in-law, Ruth VanHouten; grandchildren, Ron, Roger, Katrina, Annette, Heather, Betsy, Angie, Nicole, Pete, and Ann; 22 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. The Arnesen Family would like to extend their most heartfelt “thank-you” to the staff at Walnut Grove AFC, Sparrow Hospice, and the Congregational Church Family for the wonderful care they took of Pauline. The Funeral Service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Marilyn V. Danielson at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Portland First Congregational Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon in the fellowship hall will immediately follow the service. Interment will be at East Sebewa Cemetery. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to the Portland First Congregational Church Food Pantry in honor of Pauline. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
