Philip Koelzer

Age 88, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2010. He was born on May 7, 1922 in Ionia, MI the son of George and Myrtle (Hill) Koelzer. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II and a member of the Portland VFW Post #4090. He was a retired sheet metal worker who also was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a wife, Mildred and a daughter, Michelle. Surviving are his son Philip E. (Linda) Koelzer, Jr. of Dimondale; daughter, Nadyne (Jim) Foley of Belmont, MI; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. The Memorial Mass will celebrated at 11 am Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Larry King, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery with military honors being provided by the Portland VFW Post #4090. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland.
