Phyllis Spitzley

Phyllis Irene Spitzley Portland Age 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2007. She was born on April 29, 1925 in Charlotte, Michigan the daughter of Alferd and Dora (Hiltner) Williams. Phyllis was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She retired from the State of Michigan after 39 years. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family. Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; and sister, Shirley Petch. She is survived by her son, James (Barbara) Spitzley; grandchildren, Ashley Spitzley, Bethany Lumbert, Zachary Spitzley, and Mitchell Spitzley; brother, Alferd (Doris) Williams; and sisters, Martha (Tom) Knaggs and Barbara (Orin) Randel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Larry King at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. The Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. and a Scriptural Wake Service will be prayed at 8:00 p.m., Friday. Contributions may be made to the Fr. Flohe Foundation in Phyllis' name.
