Paid Obituary - Monday, January 21, 2008 Pliney Stump Pewamo Age 82, passed away on January 20, 2008. He was born on May 26, 1925 in Clinton Co. the son of Isadore and Mathilda (Pline) Stump. Pliney was a member of St. Patrick Church in Portland. He was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed collecting toy tractors. He was a veteran of WWII and was a longtime trustee and later Treasurer of Portland Township. On September 2, 1950 he married Marilyn Willemin at St. Patrick Catholic Church and together they shared 48 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn in 1998, son Kenneth in 1998 and a sister Helen Fedewa in 2002. Surviving are children James (Ann) Stump of Lyons and Lynn (Jeff) Sandborn of Portland; 7 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister Shirley (Richard) Lawless of Portland. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Rev. Larry King, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m., Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. The rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m., Tuesday and a Scriptural Wake Service will be prayed at 8 p.m.. A special thank you to Kelly Grys and her family and the staff at Country Living for their special care given to Pliney. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to Ionia Area Hospice or Country Living A.F.C in Portland in memory of Pliney.
