Richard "Dick" Hyland Portland, MI Richard "Dick" Hyland, a lifelong resident of Portland, passed away on January 29, 2014 at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Charlotte Hyland, daughter Bonnie Bryner, and sister Betty Goodman. Richard was an avid car enthusiast, and worked for the Ford dealerships in Portland and Ionia for 50 years as a master mechanic. A very giving person, Richard often welcomed family and friends into his home. With a quick wit and great sense of humor, he always made his loved ones laugh. He leaves behind his daughter, Theresa Castle; son, Brian Hyland, sisters; Phyllis Rectenwald and Lois Doxie; brothers, Dale (and wife Donna) Hyland and Jerry (and wife Jo) Hyland; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Crossroads Community Church of Eagle, 13940 S. Grange Rd., Eagle, Michigan.
