Age 71, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2004. He was born on March 22, 1933 in Portland, MI the son of Louis and Elenora (Huhn) Fedewa. He married the former Marilyn Smith on October 12, 1957. Mr. Fedewa served in the Korean Conflict and then the National Guard for seven years. Richard completed his GED in 1981, and worked for TRW in Portland for 37 years. He enjoyed traveling as well as camping. Mr. Fedewa was also a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in East Lansing. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Elmer, Donald, Henry, Herb, and Robert Fedewa. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Marilyn Fedewa of Lansing; children, Brenda (Roger) Shaffer of Grand Ledge, Lori (Lawrence) Heilbronn of El Sobrante, CA, Kathy Strodbeck of Lansing, Becky (Rob) Wizorek of Ionia, Michael (Jackie) Fedewa of Lansing, and Doug (Lisa) Fedewa of Middleville; 17 grandchildren; sisters, Helen Snell of Portland and Aileen Bednarz of Kalamazoo; many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2004 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Larry King, Pastor Presiding. Rite of Committal will take place at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Friday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, in memory of Mr. Richard Fedewa.
