Richard Feneis Obituary

Richard Harold Feneis Portland Age 65, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born on February 11, 1950 the son of Norman and Rosella (Simon) Feneis. Richard was an avid woodworker, enjoyed fishing and camping and loved playing black jack. He retired from G.M. in 2000 after 31 years of service. Richard was a member of the Oldsmobile Outdoors Club, Catholic Order of Foresters, Woodworkers Guild and the U.S. Army Reserve. His biggest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Ellen (Black) Feneis. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Joan (Edwards); children Michelle (Kurt) Spitzley of Portland, Karen (Jeff) Baker of Douglas and Mike (Robin) Feneis of Ft. Mill, S.C.; grandchildren Kayla (Coty) and Kelsey Spitzley, Sydney and Griffin Baker, Reagon, Keelyn and Brogan Feneis; siblings Donald Feneis, Joanne (William) Simmon, Anthony (Judy) Feneis and Larry (Erma) Feneis; many special nieces and nephews. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at St. Mary's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Eric Weber presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m., Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St., Westphalia. The rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m., Tuesday.
