Paid Obituary - Tuesday Feb. 12, 2008 Richard "Dick" H. Hoppes Portland Age 77, passed away on February 11, 2008 at home. He was born on December 21, 1930 in Portland the son of Leo and Philomena (Huhn) Hoppes. Dick is retired from General Motors and was the fromer owner of Dick's Bar in Portland. He enjoyed playing cards and going to races. He is a veteran of the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol; sisters Virginia Townsend and Colleen Trierweiler; brothers Stan Hoppes, Jerry Hoppes, Leon Hoppes; brothers-in-law Dick Kelly and Henry Visser; sister-in-law Joan Hoppes. Surviving are his sons Chris Hoppes, Scott (Robin) Hoppes, Brian (Derry) Hoppes and Greg (Lisa) Hoppes all of Portland; 9 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; siblings Alice Kelly, Jim (Sharon) Hoppes, Joe (Alice) Hoppes, Larry (Dee Dee)Hoppes and Tom (Jill) Hoppes; brothers-in-law Bill Trierweiler, and Oscar Townsend; sisters-in-law Mary Hoppes and Jerry Hoppes, Delores Visser, Grace (Connie) Weller, and Donna (Dick) Prins; many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, February 14, 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Larry King, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will recieve friends 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. The rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. and a Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m.. Online condolences may be made at www.schraubenlehman.com.
