Age 82, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2004. He was born on February 15, 1922 in Westphalia the son of Mathias and Mary (Belen) Kloeckner. Dick was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Portland, the Portland Knights of Columbus Council #2168, and a 4th Degree member of the Fr. Godez Assembly. He retired from the Consumers Power Company after 35 years of service. He formerly was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hastings.He was preceded in death by his daughter Janet Kloeckner; 3 brothers Hilary, Arthur, and Harold Kloeckner; 3 sisters, Vera Spitzley, Alma Thelen, and Pauline Williams. Surviving are his wife, Mary A. Kloeckner; daughter, Sue (Scott) Thelen of Westphalia; 2 granddaughters, Krysta and Marissa; 6 sisters, Margaret Masseau of Lansing, Laurine Sebrell of Lansing, Winifred Thelen of Westphalia, Germaine Walker of Lansing, Joann (Norman) Cook of Pewamo, and Patricia (DJ) Mace of Lansing; brother, Donald (friend Peggy) Kloeckner of Holt; several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2004 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Fr. Larry King, Pastor presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. Thursday and 3 p.m. Friday. There will be a Scriptural Wake Service held at 8 p.m. Friday.
