Age 63, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on September 4, 2008. He was born on December 6, 1944 in Evart, MI the son of Robert and Edith (Bush) Thompson. Richard loved hunting, fishing and telling stories about his life. He had many younger friends that loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Cody; sister, Mary Louise Thompson. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Mary L. Thompson; children, Sherry Thompson Fick of Portland, Robert (Angela) Thompson of Traverse City, Richard "Ricky" Thompson of Florida, Timothy Thompson of Portland, Lora (Frank Wilding) Thompson of Owosso, and Andrew (Amanda) Thompson of Portland; 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 2 important people he considered 2nd sons, Gale Jugovich and Conan Epps; adoptive children, Bryan, Rani, Marshay, Tony, Amanda, Sasha, and Sarah; sister, Edna (Herb) Bell of Florida; brother, Bob Thompson of Grand Rapids; many very special family friends and relatives.
