Age 83, passed away on February 11, 2012 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born on January 19, 1929 in Sioux Center, Iowa the son of Jacob and Jenny (VanRoukel) Duits. Bob was a member of Velda Rose Methodist Church in Mesa and the Portland United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, hunting and fishing. Bob retired after 40 years as a sheet metal model maker journeyman and supervisor at Oldsmobile Engineering Department in Lansing. He was preceded in death by his daughter Barbara L. (Duits) Mileski and brothers Donald B Duits and Gordon D. Duits. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou; daughters Lory (Clifford) Vetter, Cindy (John) Visser both of Sunfield and Sharon (Terry) Miller of Perry; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers Wayne Duits and Kenneth Duits; sister Rose Gibbs. The Memorial Service will be conducted by Pastor Keith Treman at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Portland United Methodist Church.
