Robert Heintzelman Obituary

Age 76, passed away peacefully April 19, 2005 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospitals Long Term Care Unit in Greenville, MI. He was born on March 10, 1929 in Sebewa Township, MI the son of Harry and Grace (Carpenter) Heintzelman of Lake Odessa, MI. Mr. Heintzelman served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1950. Robert was employed for 19 years at the Mitchell-Bentley Corp. and then went to work for Greenville Tool & Die Co., where he retired in 1992 after 22 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville along with the American Legion Post 452 in Stanton. He was a member of the Montcalm Area Amateur Radio Club, and licensed under the call sign K8RTM. Mr. Heintzelman was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley (Fisher) Heintzelman; brothers, Norton, Howard and Everett Heintzelman; sisters, Olive Slater, Dorothy Ackerson and June Courts. Surviving are his son, Mark and Linda (Flattley) Heintzelman of Greenville, daughter, Sonya (Robert Johnson) Heintzelman of Greenville; dedicated companion, Naomi Taylor; many nephews, nieces and cousins. The Funeral Service will be conducted by the Rev. Scott Linder, Pastor of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005, at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. Interment will follow at Balcom Cemetery, Ionia, with Military Graveside Honors provided by the Sheridan VFW Post # 5065. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. Friday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan, or to the American Diabetes Association, in memory of Mr. Robert L. Heintzelman.
