Robert Owen Kenworthy Portland, MI Age 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. He was born on October 12, 1926 in Crown Point, Indiana the son of Victor and Estella (Huffman) Kenworthy. Mr. Kenworthy was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during WWII, enjoyed serving the community as President of the Food Bank, and was a proud supporter of Portland Athletics. Robert loved his family, his church, and fishing. He enjoyed talking and socializing, was known as "Grandpa Bob" to everybody around town. He also enjoyed cooking and gardening. Robert loved watching his grandchildren play sports, and his church family was a large part of his life for many years. Preceding him in death were his wife, Edna Elizabeth in 1994; daughter, Kim Ellen in 1971; parents; 4 siblings. Surviving are his daughter, Lu (Barry) Hoffman; grandchildren, Rebecca (LaWalt) Johnson of DeWitt, Janna Soldan of Lansing, Casey Eckert of Portland, Quinn Hoffman of Portland, and Kenzee Hoffman of Portland; great grandchildren, Tyler, Julien, Connor, and William; siblings, Ruth Phillips of Indiana, and James Kenworthy of Colorado. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 517 S. Clinton Street, Grand Ledge, with Pastor Chuck Foerster and Rev. Richard McKenzie presiding. Interment will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E.
