Age 72, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010. He was born on July 4, 1937 in Easton Township the son of Harold and Ingrid (Carlson) Mier. Mr. Mier was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. Mr. Mier married Marian Tingley on January 9, 1959 and together they shared 40 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marian; granddaughter Elizabeth Kammers; brothers Harold Mier, Jr., Joe Mier and Carl Mier; sister Mary Wilson. Surviving are his daughter Jan (Joe) Kammers of Ionia; grandsons Pete Kammers of Ionia and Matt (Angie) Kammers of Lake Odessa; 2 great grandchildren; brother David (Anita) Mier; several nieces and nephews; many sisters and brothers-in-law. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Shiloh Community Church, 8197 Heth St.; Orleans with Rev. Kenneth Harger presiding. Interment will be Tuttle Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-7 p.m., Tuesday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich St., Ionia.
