Age 50, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2004. He was born on December 7, 1953 in Lansing the son of Robert and Beverly (Rogers) Dies. Roger was always helping out neighbors and friends and loved to cook. He was a great husband and father who loved animals and was known for taking in stray cats. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Susan Dies of Portland; children, Robert, Stacy and Kathy Dies of Portland; brother, Tom (Twana) Dies of Portland; 3 sisters, Patricia (Roger) Smith of Fowler, Susan Johnson of Hastings, and Lorraine (Jim) Dean of Ionia; several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be conducted by the Rev. Steve Burkhart, Pastor of the Eagle Wesley Chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Monday.
