Ronald C. Rock Portland, Michigan Age 85, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at his home. He was born on June 4, 1928 in Portland, MI the eldest son of Justin and Moneita Rock, and they preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Charlene Joan (McCrumb) Rock of Portland; sister, Betty Sharp of Ionia; brother, Duane Rock of Battle Creek; 3 daughters, Ronalda Kay and Dick Tucker of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, Carolyn and Tom Snyder of Ionia, and Debra Vincent of Portland; son, John and Pat Rock of Portland; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. Ron loved to fish with his best buddy, Jim Hoppes at his son John's cabin. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening, and sitting on his deck overlooking the river. Ron was a truck driver for a period of time, and worked at Barley Earhart for 10 years. He then started his own carpentry business. Mr. Rock was a Korean War veteran, and was on the Honor Guard for the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090. Ron will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland, with the Rev. Dr. Marilyn V. Danielson, Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Portland presiding. Interment will follow at Portland Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Friday.
