Roy Greenhoe

Age 88, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2004. He was born on May 19, 1916 in Sheridan, MI the son of Charles and Eva (Soules) Greenhoe. Mr. Greenhoe was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, where he received a Purple Heart, and was a life member of the Lyons V.F.W. Post #4646. He retired from the State Department of Mental Health. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, LaVern Greenhoe; sister, Velma Cyphers. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ruby Greenhoe of Ionia; 3 children, Terri (Greg) Way of LeRoy, Texas, Ryan Greenhoe of Ionia, and Steven Greenhoe of Grand Rapids; 2 grandchildren, Pam Meyers and Landon Greenhoe; 3 great grandchildren, Jessica, Tyffani and D.J.; sister-in-law, Elaine Greenhoe of Ionia; several nieces and nephews. The Memorial Service will be conducted by the Rev. Martin Culver, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Ionia, and the Rev. Greg Way, at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2004 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Ionia. Military Honors will be provided by the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia County Commission on Aging, or to the Ionia County Memorial Home Health Care, in memory of Mr. Roy W. Greenhoe.
