Ruby Smith Jackson, MI Ruby Smith died unexpectedly on April 10, 2016. Ruby was a loving wife, mother and stepmother. she was born in St. Ignace on October 28, 1972 to William Foster Deborah Ann (Andress) Foster. She is a life member Sault Tribe Chippewa Indians with a heritage of Native American background several generations. She was loyal to her Native Culture and made many art items including earrings and dream catchers to name a few. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science and was a Human Services Director at Fire Keepers Casino. Surviving is the love of her life her husband, Robert Smith; Son, Vlad Jennett; daughter, Sophie Jennett; stepsons Sam Smith and Gabe Cox; stepdaughter, Alyssa Butcher; mother and stepfather Deborah and Allen Campbell; brother, Will Foster; sister, Jennifer Foster; mother-in-law, Cheryl McFarland; fathers-in-law Lane McFarland and Jim Smith; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends too numerous to name. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016 at New Hope Church, 1340 Haslett Rd, Haslett. The family will receive friends 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Cremation has taken place and her remains will be buried on Mackinac Island on May 14, 2016. Contributions may be made to Robert Smith who will see that they go to her children Vlad and Sophie.
