Age 98, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. She was born on December 31, 1911 in Big Rapids, MI the daughter of Fred and Pearl (Ralston) Cantine. Mrs. Stedman was a longtime dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Palo and was an avid gardener who could make anything grow. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Millard "Cy" Stedman; son Richard Stedman; 2 brothers and a sister. Surviving are her 3 children, James Stedman of Boise, Idaho, Bruce (Gaye) Stedman of Ionia, and Mary Jane (Robert) Kuhtz of Ionia; daughter-in-law, Lois Stedman of Ionia; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; 2 brothers, David (Anne) Cantine of Eaton Rapids and Keith (Rose) Cantine of Eaton Rapids; several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Ionia with Rev. Joseph Fremer, officiating. Interment will take place at Woodard Lake Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Satuday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
