Shirley Courtnay

Ionia Age 68, passed away with her children by her side on Sunday, February 20, 2011. Shirley was born on August 14, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. She enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Nascar, woodworking, and traveling. She retired from the Michigan Department of Corrections and was a member of the Sault Sainte Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Shirley passed at a young age but had a full life. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Richard Majinska. Surviving are her parents, Shirley Mae Nichols, and Melvin Biang; children, Danelle (Ryan) Carigon, and Terri (Eric) Carigon; 2 grandchildren, Leighton, and Danielle; 6 sisters, Elizabeth Majinska, Linda (Howard) Shearer, Rene Kerns, Deborah White, Caroline Biang, and Nanette Biang.
