Luther Moseley

Luther Oakley Moseley, of Pembroke, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2017. Luther was born on Sunday, March 30, 1952, in Richmond, Va. to the late William Milton and Louise Mary Winfrey Moseley. Luther is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Lorin Walker and husband, Matt, and Gwyn Noell and husband, Josh; grandchildren, Elizabeth Walker and Everett Noell; brothers, Bruce Moseley, William Moseley, and Bernard Moseley and wife, Connie; nieces and nephews, Vickie Pyle, Margaret Moseley, and William Moseley, Jr.; and great-nieces, great-nephews, and many great friends. Luther loved God, his family, being granddaddy to his two grandchildren, and working with the many students and staff at Virginia Tech. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, history, and cooking and shared these loves with his children and many others. The family will receive friends and family from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave Skole officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.johnmoakey.com.
