Stanley Gross Obituary

Crystal and Portland Age 71, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2006. He was born on July 24, 1934 in Portland the son of Arnold and Martha (Schafer) Gross. Stanley was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles, American Legion, and the K of C in Carson City. He enjoyed golfing and loved singing and playing the guitar especially during the Christmas season. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and loved spending winters in Lake Wales, Florida. Stanley was part owner-operator of Portland Plastics retiring after 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, John, granddaughter Holly Cook and a sister, Anne Schrauben. On October 16, 1954 he married Jane Feldpausch and together shared 51 years of marriage. Surviving are his wife, Jane; children Sheila (Bruce) Cook of Portland, Donalyn (Ryan) Sandborn of Portland, Doug (Raelyn) Gross of Eagle and Carol (Howard) Graft of Portland; 20 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Marie Schrauben, Donald (Dee) Gross, Rita (Steve) Snitgen, Alice (Tom) Zimmerman, Mary (Rocky) Beckhold, and Gary (Carol) Gross; many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2006 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Larry King, Pastor presiding. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday with a rosary being prayed at 3 p.m. There will be a Scriptural Wake Service held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Father Flohe Foundation.
