Stephen Hartman

Age 69, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2003.  He was born on March 22, 1934 in Ionia, MI the son of Oliver and Dorothy (Youngs) Hartman.  Mr. Hartman was a lifelong farmer who loved Oliver tractors and Jersey cows.  Stephen also enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a member of F&AM #37 Lyons Lodge, and also served in the U.S. Army for 2 years.  Mr. Hartman loved his family, and had many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Mildred L. Hartman, of Ionia; daughter, Elizabeth (Jim) Voorheis of Ionia; sons, Marcus (Tamara) Hartman and Frank (Kimberly) Hartman, both of Ionia; grandchildren, Benjamin, Laura, and Amanda Hartman, Sophia, Thomas, Kirsten, and Raymond Christensen; brother, William (Sharon) Hartman, of Ionia; cousin, David Hartman, of Grand Rapids.  The Funeral Service will be conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Harger, Pastor of Shiloh Community Church, at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Cook Chapel, 220 Rich Street, Ionia with interment following at Woodard Lake Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia County Commission on Aging, in memory of Stephen J.
