Thelma Hayner Obituary

Age 93, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010. She was born on November 28, 1916 in Lansing the daughter of Albert and Violet (Stocker) Hodge. Thelma was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #4090 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, and crocheting and loved to play the piano. On September 10, 1938 she married Lewis Hayner and he preceded her in death in 1981. Thelma was preceded in death by a son, Ricky and an infant daughter, Phyllis. Surviving are her daughter, Netanis "Tani" (Joe) Ellis of Portland; grandchildren Jody (Tricia) Ellis of Germantown, MD and Jennifer (Chris Rivas) Ellis of Kentwood; great grandchildren Joseph John Ellis and Cody William Ellis; several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland with Rev. David Leisman officiating. Interment will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. A rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m., Wednesday.
