Thelma Russman

Age 87, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2003.  She was born on July 19, 1915 in Portland, MI the daughter of Miles and Neva (Covert) Tran.  Mrs. Russman graduated from Portland High School in 1933.  Thelma was a long time member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.  She married Herman J. Russman on November 6, 1942.  Thelma enjoyed keeping a journal, tending her garden, and being with her grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; brother, Alan Tran; sister, Ardith Rittersdorf.  Surviving are her son, Charlie (Cindy) Russman of Portland; grandchildren, Christin, Aaron, Katie, Laura, and Audrey; brother, Raymond (Dorothy) Trann of Smyrna, MI; brothers-in-law Joseph Rittersdorf of Greenville, and William (Marilyn) Koster of Portland; sister-in-law Lorena Tran of Belding.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charles D. Hall, Pastor at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2003 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Portland, with Rite of Committal to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia.  The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.  Rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. Wednesday.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Father Flohe Foundation, in memory of Thelma I.
