Thomas Frederick Bailey Ionia Age 82, passed away on July 7, 2007. He was born in West Liberty, Iowa on September 12, 1924 the second child of Alvin and Helen (Hubbard) Bailey. Tom served in the United States Army Air Corps 143rd AAA Gun Battalion from 1943 to 1946. Tom married Lourice Berbari on March 14, 1952. Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lourice; children, Laura Christison, Jeanette (Gary) Bailey-Hoffmaster, Katie (Phil) Maynard, Michelle (Dave) Latondress, Martha Bailey, David (Christa) Bailey, and Jon (Rebekah) Bailey; 27 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Miles (Lila) Bailey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Melvin Fox at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2007 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia. The rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. and a Scriptural Wake Service will be prayed at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Contributions may be made to the Ss. Peter and Paul Scholarship Fund in Thomas’ name.
