Thomas Foy Obituary

Age 61, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather passed away Friday, April 7, 2006. He was born on September 14, 1944 in Boston, MA the son of Joseph and Gerealdine (Kelley) Foy. Tom was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia and was a teacher in the Ionia Public Schools for 38 years. He graduated from Campion Jesuit High School in Wisconsin and Western Michigan University. Tom was a former Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Ionia and avid Boston Red Sox fan. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Mary Ellen Foy and Nancy (Foy) Meisenheimer. Surviving are his wife, Mary; children Sarah (Michael) Marion of Ionia, Laura (Jeremy) Hyler of Greenville, and Ryan Foy of Fenwick; Grandchildren Ellie and Hannah Marion; brothers Joseph (Joannie) Foy of Kalamazoo and Peter (Linda) Foy of Ocala, Florida; sister, Judith (Keith LaSalle) Foy of Ann Arbor; brother-in-law, Robert Meisenheimer of Hilton Head, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Melvin Fox, Pastor at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 434 High St., Ionia. Rite of Committal will be in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:30 - 9:00 p.m., at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Ionia Chapel, 220 Rich St.. A Scriptural Wake Service will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. The family will also receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass at the church on Wednesday.
