Portland Age 31, passed away on July 31, 2008. He was born on September 15, 1976 in Lansing the son of Michael and Diane (Challender) Ward. Troy was of a member of the Church of Christ in Grand Ledge and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed sports including the Kentucky Derby. Troy graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Criminal Justice, he worked for the Department of Corrections in Ionia as a Activities Coordinator. His family and friends were very important to him, being liked by all. Surviving are his parents, Michael and Diane Ward; brothers Todd (Denise) Ward and Timothy Ward;nephew, Chandler Ward; stepnieces Nichole Barber, Hannah Barber, and Haley Keller; grandmother, Arlene Challender; uncle, Douglas Ward; aunt, Marilyn (Richard) Webert; cousins Heather (Brett) Steinbacker, Sara (Jason) Fazzoni, Rick (Kelly) Webert, Jennifer Webert, Nicholas (Shannon) Webert, Cory (Sherry) Webert; several great aunts and uncles. The funeral service will be held at 11:15 a.m., Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Interment will follow at Portland Cemetery.
