Ross, Vera Lucielle Lansing Age 85, passed away August 12, 2003. She was born March 5, 1918 in Sebewa the daughter of Floyd Arthur and Allena May (Kenyon) Bishop. Mrs. Ross grew up in the Portland area, attended Lansing Eastern High School, and graduated from Portland High School. Vera attended the St. Lawrence School of Nursing and worked in the medical profession her entire life. She enjoyed traveling and talking about the history of her ancestry. Gathering with friends and family were always very special times and the highlight of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1983, a sister, Virginia Terrill and a brother, Paul Bishop. Surviving are her daughter, Pamela K. Ross of Lansing; sisters, Dorothy Silky of Lansing and Gwendolyn Fenton of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.; numerous loving nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be conducted by Pastor Gregory R. Wolfe, Portland United Mehtodist Church at 2:00p.m., Thursday, August 14, 2033 at Portland Cemetery, Portland, MI. There will be no funeral home visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lansing Fire and Rescue Dept. or the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Unit at Sparrow Hospital in memory of Mrs. Ross.
