Wayne Thelen

Wayne Peter Thelen Portland, MI Age 60, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2012 at home after a long courageous battle with prostate cancer. Christmas Day, the most glorious day was Wayne's favorite holiday. He was born to Robert and Viola (Blundy) Thelen on September 20, 1952 in Portland. Wayne retired this past July from the Delta Township Utility Department after 26 years of service. He loved hunting, horseback riding, and driving his team of ponies in the Portland and Eagle parades. Wayne especially loved spending time with his family and friends at their property up north near Marion, MI, horseback riding, camping, or just sitting around the campfire at home down by his pond. He loved life, and mostly, his family. Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert and Viola Thelen; brother, David Thelen; nephew, Brian Thelen; brother-in-law, David Martin; sister-in-law, Patricia Thelen.
