William Blundy
Age 80, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2009. He was born April 11, 1929 in Lansing the son of Sylvester and Pauline (Rockey) Blundy. William was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia. He worked as a press operator at G. M., retiring after over 30 years of service. He farmed all his life and was a family man who truly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, William C. Blundy; daughter, Theresa Blundy; brothers Matthew Blundy and Donald Blundy; sister Marilyn Blundy; Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Patricia of Ionia; children Diane (Marvin) Schafer of Hubbardston, Paul Blundy and Cathy LaPointe-Blundy of Ionia, Debra (Joel) Wittenbach of Muir, Ted Blundy of Ionia, Scott (Julie) Blundy of Greenville, Susan (Todd) Babcock of Lyons, and Lorie (Jim) VanHeulen of Lowell; 29 Grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren; siblings Marie White of Ionia, Delores Thelen of Westphalia, Gerald ((Joan) Blundy of Ionia, Arlene (Cal) Stanton of Ionia and Ronald Blundy of Ionia; many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Boufford at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 14, 2009 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia. Rite of Committal will take place in the spring at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia. A Scripture Service will be prayed Sunday evening.
